External Contacts

External Contacts allow you to manage contacts that are not user extensions but should appear in the company directory and be available for CRM lookups.

Overview

The External Contacts section provides a centralized place to store contact information for customers, vendors, partners, and other external parties. These contacts are accessible through the Company Directory and are used for caller ID matching and CRM screen pops.

Managing Contacts

You can add, edit, and delete external contacts individually, or import them in bulk using CSV upload. Each contact record supports fields for name, organization, phone numbers, email, and notes.

Directory Integration

External contacts are included in directory lookups within Thirdlane Connect and the User Portal, allowing users to search and dial external contacts alongside internal extensions.

CRM Matching

When CRM integrations are configured, external contacts participate in caller ID matching for inbound and outbound calls. See CRMs for details on CRM integration.
