Extension Panels
Extension Panels allow you to configure the programmable keys and display panels on provisioned IP phones, including BLF (Busy Lamp Field), speed dial, and other function keys.
Overview
Most modern IP phones support programmable side-car panels or on-screen panels that can be configured to monitor extension status, provide one-touch dialing, or activate specific features. Extension Panels let you define these configurations centrally and push them to devices through Device Provisioning.
Panel Configuration
Each panel entry can be assigned one of the following functions:
- BLF (Busy Lamp Field) — monitors the status of another extension and allows one-touch pickup.
- Speed Dial — assigns a phone number for quick dialing.
- Line — registers an additional SIP line on the device.
- Feature Code — maps a programmable key to a platform feature code.
Assigning Panels to Extensions
Panels are defined at the tenant level and can be assigned to individual user extensions or applied in bulk through provisioning templates. See Extended Phone Templates for template-based assignment.
