Portal Color Scheme Questions

Posted by raven on Thu, 12/11/2008

I am trying to adjust the default color scheme and can't find a global way to do it, only through User Extensions do I see anything to change it, and that doesn't even seem to change it for the user. Only when I change it AS the user does anything change color wise. I don't see a way to cahnge it for the Admin either. Is there anyway to change it, any plans to be able to change it further (like background color, style sets, etc)?

As far as changing the color scheme for the Admin, as Admin go to -> PBX Manager -> Preferences -> Color Scheme and change it there. The colors themselves are listed in the file config.info in the asterisk subdirectory in the main Webmin directory. On my system, its located at /usr/local/webmin-1.441/asterisk/config.info. There you can define more colors if you'd like. Just don't forget to add the corresponding file $color.css file in the same directory. If you are not sure what $color.css should look like, just look at any of the other files *.css.

Hope that helps;

Are you saying that when you log into Webmin as "admin", go to "Servers", then "Thirdlane PBX Manager" then "Preferences", there is no option that says "Color Scheme"?

Thought you meant inside pbx manager, which brings me to my next issue: I made webmin auto-load pbx manager so when I go to it, I'm right at the pbx manager. How can I now go back and access webmin?

OK, that helped. I had to go to webmin Index Page Options and change my 'after login, always go to' from Thirdlane to 'none'. So then I could go to the webmin index page and get to Servers. I see the Thirdlane PBX manager icon. I still don't see any 'Preferences'. If I left click on PBX manager the Thirdlane GUI comes up. If I right click, I didn't see anything there either.

However, if I change User Interface colors in webmin config, I get what I need, but only in webmin; the style doesn't make it to Thirdlane. I think it is stuck on the 'Blue Framed Theme' in webmin themes, 'cause all I ever get is the blue text on white background if I am admin. If I'm a user, at least I get the text color choice change I set for the extension as admin.

Can you give me a better idea about the 'Preferences' and where that is supposed to be, thanks...

not intending to sound rude, but based on your response, I think you should go through your entire menu on the left side of PBX Manager and become familiar with whats there. There isn't that many sub headings and knowing where places like Preferences, Default Settings, General Settings, etc. are located will shave days off delays in resolution on this forum. In this particular case you would already have resolved this issue on 12/12/08. Again, I'm not trying to sound rude, but when you realize precisely where this is set and how glaringly obvious it was in the menu, you're going to kick yourself.

Here is the left side menu from MTE. I don't see 'Preferences' in it. Do you?

That was the last piece of the puzzle. So the shortest answer would have been:

Login as 'root' to PBX-manager. Do not use other users, even if they have full admin rights. Then 'Preferences' is in the menu and you can select type color at that point. For more advanced changes, see cbbs70a's response at Sat, 12/13/2008 - 01:26.
