After X Seconds go to - X

Posted by AdrianSimpson on Wed, 11/06/2019

HI All,

after attempting to replicate a 3CX setup we have ive hit a snag,

Our customer wants to simply divert calls to her mobile when everyone is out of the office, As the routing goes straight into a Hunt List, this isnt possible.

I have advised we can use 1 extension as a main 'gatway' extension then enable call forwarding on that when necessary, that works great, what i would like to do is in normal operation after 3 seconds of her extension ringing to go onto the pre-exisitng hunt group for the whole office as normal.

I cant find this option anywhere under the extension - If not answered after (3) seconds forward calls to (hunt list)

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Kind Regards
Adrian

Hello Adrian,

You can achieve this behavior by creating feature code for the hunt list and then using it in user's Find Me/Follow Me configuration.

Thanks again Volodya, so if i set the ring time of the follow me to longer than the intended time on the hunt group (that goes to voicemail after 60 seconds) will the hunt group routing take over or will it try to come back to the follow me routing?

Hope that makes sense

Adrian

FM/FM basically calls a Local channel with provided timeout. Hunt list logic will not take over unless there will be an answer (by user, voice mail box or other application). In case if this channel will not be answered FM/FM will eventually stop dialling it and perform next rule.

Hi Volodya,

THanks again for the help on this, all is working great. My only concern is now that we are using the extension like this, when they try to transfer a call internally it follows the same ruleset.

Is there any way for the extension to recognise internal calls and route differently while FM is active?

Kind regards
Adrian

Hello Adrian,

This will require dial script customization. It can be done by using modified versions of tl-stdexten and tl-userexten-rg-base scripts that will skip FM/FM logic for internal calls.

Hi Volodya,

Thanks for the assist, even when on FM/FM you get the 'long international ringing tone' also, i think im going to change to just having a 'gateway' extension with a permanent divert on - always on 650 (feature code to normal hunt group) and then when they want to divert the system to mobile just change from 650 to mobile number, and back again.

This way you get the 'normal' ringing whenever a call comes in.

Thanks again for all your help.
