What's new in 16.1.3

This page summarizes Thirdlane Connect changes in 16.1.3. The headline additions are @mentions, per-conversation notification levels, and Siri support on iPhone. Your administrator decides which features are enabled for your tenant.

Mentions

  • Mention teammates - Type @ in a channel or chat to open a picker, then choose a person, @everyone, or @here. The mention is inserted as a highlighted chip.
  • Mention badge - Conversations where you were mentioned show a distinct red mention badge so they stand out from ordinary unread messages.
  • Mention sound - A separate sound plays when you are mentioned.
  • Cuts through the noise - Mentions still reach you even in conversations you have set to Mentions only.

See Mentions.

Per-conversation notification levels

The simple per-conversation Mute toggle is replaced by three levels you can set on any channel or chat:

  • All messages - Notified for every message (the default).
  • Mentions only - Notified only when you are mentioned; other messages stay silent.
  • Nothing - No notifications for the conversation.

A small icon on the conversation row shows the level at a glance: no icon for All messages, an @ for Mentions only, and a crossed-bell for Nothing.

See Notification Settings.

Siri on iPhone

  • Voice calling - Ask Siri to place a call with your business identity, hands-free.
  • Dictated messages - Ask Siri to send a text message using your business number; Siri reads it back and sends it without opening the app.
  • Automatic setup - After you sign in to Connect once, the app provisions Siri for you. Turn on Siri & Search for Thirdlane Connect in iOS Settings.

See Siri (iPhone).

Call history

  • Delete calls from your history - Remove a single call, delete several at once in select mode, or clear everything with Select all.
  • Hidden only for you - Deletions are per-party: other participants are not affected, and recordings and reporting are left unchanged.

See Call History.

Delivery and Do Not Disturb

  • Every device - Mentions are delivered to all of your signed-in devices.
  • Do Not Disturb - While your status is Busy (Do Not Disturb), alerts stay quiet, but mentions still accrue as badges so you can catch up when you return.

See Your Status.

Channel improvements

  • Instantly visible - Channels you were just added to now appear in the channel list and search without reconnecting or signing in again.
  • Cleaner member admin - Admins can add or remove channel members without a false “Failed” message; owner-only channel settings are now hidden from non-owners.
  • Mobile channel flow - After editing a channel or adding members on mobile, you return to the channel list instead of being dropped into the conversation.
  • Mobile channel search - The Manage (gear) action in channel search on mobile now opens channel settings instead of the Recents screen.

See Channels.

Other fixes

  • Save as Contact - Cancelling “Save as Contact” after a call now returns you to the welcome view instead of a “Page not found” screen.
  • Playback reliability - Playing a voicemail or recording no longer shows a false “Something went wrong” error after a brief network hiccup, and retries automatically.

Required device settings

Mentions, calling, and Siri rely on the right permissions being granted on your phone. See Device permissions and required settings for the iOS and Android checklist.
