Language and Appearance Settings

Language. Selection of supported languages (including German and Japanese in recent releases, plus existing locales—options depend on server build).

Theme / appearance (16.1.1+, web and desktop).

  • Light — Light chrome and backgrounds.
  • Dark — Dark chrome and backgrounds.
  • System — Follow the operating system light/dark preference.

Legacy color schemes (Blue, Green, Monochrome) still tint the UI within the active theme.

The interface uses the Inter typeface on web and desktop in current releases for improved readability.

Visual appearance:

  • Show Chat menu when a chat or a Channel is opened. Controls whether the “Extra Window” in the right pane opens when the direct conversation or Channel windows open.

  • Display avatars (pictures) in chat. Controls whether to show profile pictures in one-to-one Chat windows.

  • Display file and video previews in chat. Controls whether to show previews of images and video clips sent to a Chat or a Channel.

Font size. Select small, medium, or large text throughout the application.

Date and Time Format. Defines how date and time appear:

  • Time format — e.g. 8:24:39 PM
  • Day format — e.g. 06/22/2018
  • Full date format — e.g. 2018-06-22 20:24

Press Save so changes take effect.
