welcome email for new user extensions

morning all,

we are using TL MTE, and when setting up new customers, it is a real hassle to send out emails with all personal login instructions.
has anyone worked out a solution to send out an email immediately after creating a new extension?

ideally we would create a default welcome email template, and have a button in the extensions list page, named: "send welcome email"

or is this more something for the "features wanted" department?
