Using CTi in Thirdlane connect is very slow

Posted by magixnetworks on Mon, 05/15/2017

Hi,

We have mostly Cisco IP Phones in our network and have noticed when using CTi in Connect (Dialling the number in Connect to ring the desk phone to make the call) there at times can be a delay of up to a minute before the desk phone actually rings.

Making the call directly on the desk phone is fine and using WebRTC mode to make the call through Connect is also fine.

Has anyone else had this issue and has a suggestion on how to fix

Thanks

this sounds like a registration timeout issue. you should check your logs for the phones going LAGGED and Unreachable. The phone gets called via an originate command which means the phone has to receive an INVITE message. Registration is not used to place a call, only to receive one. If asterisk cannot determine how to reach your device, or your firewall hinders receipt of INVITES, then you can experience this issue.
