Thirdlane 7 Multi-Tenant

Posted by netriplex on Fri, 03/21/2014

I am evaluating this product and have setup a demo company and created some very basic extensions and stuff. Inbound calling works fine, however, outbound and extension to extension calling is giving a "Not Acceptable Here" error.

I am using a Snom 370 to test and have configured that in the Web GUI and have used the SIP username for both "account" and "Authentication Username" in the phone.

What am I missing?

Which version are you using? Did you verify that registrations work - and if not what is the message you are getting?

Could you please give an example of how you configured your devices?

From our experience "Not Acceptable Here" is a CODEC mismatch problem between the phone and the server.

It is odd that it works inbound and not outbound. We think it's just because the phones aren't that fussy. If the incoming call is g.711 the phone will accept it and support g.711 even though it may be set to preference g.729.

Outbound is a different story as Asterisk enforces the preferred CODEC. So if your phone is set to preference g.729 and the server is set for g.711... you get the error.

Seems to me you might even run into trouble even if both sides have several possible CODECS in their list, but in different orders. To simply things for testing we usually set each side for just 1 codec... normally g.711 or 711u.

Good luck.
