System Speed Dials

Posted by abongard on Tue, 11/03/2009

There is a button in the directory that says View System Speed Dials.

We are using MT and would like to store some tenant based system wide speed dials for customers and we cant find where to add to this list and how to access them.

ultimately the customer should pick up the phone dial a feature code and then the speed dial position number (per tenant) and VOILA the system will dial the number assigned to that position.

Any ideas please...

Regards,
Andrew

its not finished yet... and honestly i thought it was a stupid idea...

now you have to dial #66 + speed dial number to call bobby whom you put in the corp or personal directory.

you have to memorize bobby's speed dial index and you have to dial all that crap..

OR

you can just go into your user portal where his number is already stored and click the 'call' link

Sure it might be a stupid idea but thats what the customers want (i don't know why either)

Any idea when this will be completed.

no idea actually. Ive been working on the outbound fax piece mostly. It requires the user to run digiums fax for asterisk but works rather well with pdf or tiff files.

Hey Erik.

"you can just go into your user portal where his number is already stored and click the 'call' link"

I didn't find "call" link on my user portal. Am I missing some configuration? I am using MTE 6.0.1.75 and asterisk 1.4.18

you cant log in as admin, you have to login as the user. once logged in as a user go to the directory and the link will show up on the far right column.

Any updates with system speed dial
I have customer with numerous trucks on the road and he want all the office employees to ba able to call a driver using speed dial which based on his truck # (this is some thing he currently have,)

I thought this is some thing not done yet, if I could just created a feature code that would dial a number. And run it as *1XXX, is this doable and what would be the right script

Thanks

Hi,

is there a way to disable this button??

When customers see this in the user portal they want to use it and from all that i´ve been seeing it´s not possible to implement.

will this issue be fixed in future versions?

Thanks!

I agree that disabling the button would be a nice option, especially if it doesn't do anything as of yet. I just had someone ask me about it and I have a feeling when I tell them "It doesn't do anything" they'll want to know why it's there :-)

Just wondering if there had been any progress on this.

I've tried to use the #66 method to dial a speed dial number, and even this isn't functioning properly. All I get is "Invalid Number".

Is there something I need to change to make this work properly?
