Recover sip user information after crash

Posted by sgollnitz on Sun, 06/22/2008

Our system crashed over the weekend and we're in the process of recovering. I was able to recover everything that was in the /etc/asterisk directory but not the asterisk database. When we go and try to look at individual extensions, we get "user not found". Is there any way to recover the extension information without having to recreate every one?

"User not found" message is most likely related to a missing webmin user. When user extensions are created, webmin users are created as well (that is what allows them to login and access the user portal).

By default Webmin user information is stored in /etc/webmin and /etc/webmin/asterisk directories.

Good luck with recovery,
