what firmware are you running? also I would avoid naming a tenant 'default' because of it being used so prevalently in context naming.

I currently have 3.2.3 running. I saw your post a little bit ago regarding the new firmware. Should I go back to the 3.2.2?

The tenant name is not 'default', i was using that as an example. I should have used 421-iTelecommute would be a better example. (the second letter is capitalized.

umm that's an empty file.

00042e428fc_phone1.cfg is not the template method i created in thirdlane.. which means your trying to do your own thing. Which pretty much leaves you on your own for help on this. Most likely failure is that the file structure is incompatible with your version of firmware as is usually the case with those that try to roll the contents of phone1.cfg and sip.cfg into every phone users config file. Those files are paired with a specific version of firmware. If you incorporate those entries into your phone's configs all in a single file, every firmware upgrade will leave you having to alter every file your customer has.

Which template method should I be looking at. I'm sorry, I'm not seeing it. I would much rather use what has been proven. :-P

I do realize that. (I pulled that and other files off the Polycom web site.)
I just found some of the template info on the phone server and working on getting those files configured properly.

Any chance you could email over some completed example files so I know what to put into each field?

I'm making progress I believe but still not getting the line to register. Also, during the pulling in of files it looks like it is still not finding:

what does /var/log/asterisk/messages say about the attempt?

NOTICE[28240] chan_sip.c: Registration from '' failed for '69.84.254.51' - No matching peer found.

It's like it keeps dropping the -iTelework after the 421. It does this even when trying to configure it manually.

Trying to give some breadcrumbs here: but it is loading in the settings for the server but all the information for the Line is still blank and the Line is Not Registered.

are you using tftp or ftp for provisioning?

I'm using tftp from a local machine.

That's been part of the issue all along. The phone server is only seeing the 421 instead of the 421-iTelework.

is this the only polycom phone youve used?

It is the only polycom phone I've used, yes.
That is one of the problems that has been there from the beginning.
I now have it saying "URL call is disabled" also.

you didnt use the template thru the gui

go into the gui and add this device (via mac address) and assign 'all buttons' to the registration you want it to register as..

you probably cant tftp through your firewall, you want to setup ftp access (default user/pass is PlcmSpIp for both user and passwd) so that it can fetch these.

I've gone through the gui and added the device. Where does it create those files so I can point it?

Erik, Thanks for the help today. It's still giving the same error as before even with the Provisioned Template used.
