paging system

Posted by George on Tue, 06/24/2008

I have a customer using a TAM paging system.. we have it set as an extension on our system using a linksys spa-2000 ATA, you dial the extension, the TAM picked up you say your message everything works great..

problem is when you hang up the ATA doesn't get the disconnect and you get the off hook tones first low then LOUD for 9 seconds before it disconnects..

any know how to get the ATA to hang up when the calling party hangs up..?

Thanks
George

you want the Bogen TAM-B and set the duration so that the TAM-B disconnects after so many seconds. I battled the same exact thing. The only caveat is that you want to set the delay just long enough to handle an announcement but not play those tones, yet long enough not to cut anyone off. It will take some experimenting.

it isnt just the ATA that behaves this way, FXS ports on a digium card have the exact behavior.

Grrrr they don't have any doc on the TAM, I'll have to go after hours and play and see what I can figure out. At least I klnow its not only the ATA, I thought I was going crazy not being able to get it to work correctly..

Thanks Erik..
