New Install - Cannot log in after changing passwords

Posted by jkeegan123 on Mon, 05/08/2017

Hello,

I have a new install of Thirdlane MTE ... I have changed the 'root' and 'admin' passwords in the web console and I have changed the password of the root user via ssh / console. After these changes, I am unable to log in to the web interface at all. If I change the root user back to the old password via ssh, I can log into the web interface as 'root' but still not as admin.

I have MySQL access if we need to make a MySQL change in order to restore access. I did see that the user table 'pbxconf.servers' has a username and password listed, but these did not work either.

Is there a way to reset the password of the admin user if you are not able to get into the web interface at all? This is not the first time that this has happened, but it is my first time posting about it. Previously, I had to reinstall Thirdlane to resolve the issue.

Please help, and thank you!

Did you by any chance use a special character in the password that you changed it too?

We have noticed issues with using special characters in passwords in some versions of the Thirdlane software. You should be able to reset the password for the admin account in the Webmin users module after logging in as root.
