IVR - Announcement Generated using Command

Posted by Dougster on Tue, 05/16/2017

There is a feature in the IVR menu to play "Announcement generated using Command" and the ability to enter a command. This looks like a handy way for users to record their IVR media, but I can't find any documentation on how to use it.

Maybe it can be used with a feature code for "Voice prompt recording"?
Any clues?

Doug,

I could be wrong because I have never used it, however, I believe that this is for entering an asterisk command like SayDigits or the like to generate the announcement.

*51 (by default) for web prompt recording is the "handy way" for users to record their IVR media.

Seems like its a mystery, However using *51 seems like a good option. Any clues on how this can be used. It seems to record a voicemail message, but how does it end up in the right place for an ivr

If you read the "comments" for the *51 feature code, you will see that the *51 code is designed specifically to be used by the Voice Prompts -> Create Voice Prompt Web GUI. So while the code is listed independently, it is really the script/code that is used the web GUI to "connect" the GUI to a physical phone for recording.
