Extension that is not registered is not receiving Voicemail, any advice?

Posted by dbenders on Fri, 10/03/2008

Hi, currently we have some customers in our MTE instalation that have remote users that are in the street a lot of times. For that reason, they are using eyebeam (softphone) in their laptops. The problem is that when ther are not connected to the internet, when some one call them directly to their extension, insted to reveice a voicemail prompt, the caller receve a fast busy signal.

Does any one know how we can configure the system in a way that if the extension is not registered, instead to receive a fast busy, the caller will be redirected to the Voicemail?

Any advice will be very welcome!

I do not experience this behavior, any phone not registered to my system promptly goes to voicemail. Are you sure voicemail is enabled for the extension?

Hi, we found where is the problem. If we set the extension as a "standard extension", we get this behavior, but if we setup it as "user extension", then we get the call dircted to the voice mail.

Thanks for your feedback, as always, you are very participative in the forums and this is very good for all.
