Conference and Meetme

Posted by phauwert on Mon, 06/08/2009

Hi All,

Anybody have some quick pointers how to set up Conference.

MTE now states "no such command"...

Do I still need to install or activate Meetme.

Are looking at Meetme and Zdummy. What is the quickest way to get this up and running.

Because when you search other forums and look for answers, you don't get a straight foward answer, for what is the best or most stable version/option...

Thanks in advance.

ztdummy should not exist on your system it should be dahdi_dummy. Zaptel was decommissioned 1 year ago.

does your meetme.conf exist? Was dahdi compiled and installed prior to building asterisk? Do you have the module app_meetme.so?

Hi Erik,

i've tried to locate the app_meetme.so module, but i couldnt find it. The meetme.conf however exists in the /etc/asterisk/ folder.

greets,

Patrick

you need to recompile your asterisk after dahdi modules have been built. Verify the meetme app is selected to install in 'make menuselect'

thought everything worked fine until I tried full conference. Conference application seems to work OK. I just don't have audio. So can join and leave rooms with all the sounds files being played. Just no connection between users in a room... Anyone an idea what might be misconfigured. Dahdi is up and running.

I hear MOH. Checked practically all settings. Still no connection in confrence rooms. Doesn't anyone have any idea what might cause this...

I would take this to the asterisk-users mailing list.

If you rolled your own box there are so many options that are out of thirdlane's control.

They will certainly want to see a printout of the debug log when the issue happens.

Hi All,

Coming back to the issue I had with no audio in conference. Tried everything and at the end of the day it came from checking the optimization box in MTE. As soon as I unchecked the optimization option, it works just fine. Anyone an idea how to get optimization working?

Thanks.

optimization is supposed to already be on by default in 1.6.1.0 so maybe selecting it causes a problem.. then again 1.6.1.x is very alpha. I wouldnt use it in production. Hell 1.6.0.7 - 11 are still buggy as hell. 1.6.06 is more staple than the other branches right now. I would either use 1.6.0.6 or wait till 1.6.0.12. I would definitely give 1.6.1.x 5 or 6 releases before moving to that branch. Remember, 1.6.1 is not just a patch level upgrade from 1.6.0, the differences between 1.6.y.0 and 1.6.z.0 are almost half as significant as 1.4 to 1.6.
