CentoOS update -> loss of connection to PBX

Posted by hwarner on Mon, 08/24/2009

Puzzled: I did a YUM update to CentOS and a upgrade to the latest PBX. I have lost connection via both the IP phone and the FXO/FXS to PBX. I can get in port 80 GUI. While I watch it, no SIP shows to be hitting it. I have checked to see if any firewall or port has been changed: Firewall is down; 5060 is available. Without posting all of the configs etc, does anybody have a suggestion of what I forgot to do?

I can tell you from experience that, like electricity and anything else with power, yum can be your best friend or worst enemy. You have to know the limitations of your hardware drivers and all software you are running. Best bet is to never let yum update the kernel, and everything else will usually will stay sane when updating. Modify the /boot/grub.conf file and revert to your old kernel if it got updated, it might restore your system.
