Call Forwarding to POTS

Posted by gregshap on Mon, 09/20/2010

Hello,

I am wondering, what is the best way to call forward permanately to a POTS number from a SIP DID?

The problem is, when I do it the way I use to do it in STE on 1.4, using a hunt list, I would get the original caller ID to pass on to the POTS line.

Now in MTE on 1.6, when I try to use the same method, it passes the Caller ID from the tenant default external caller ID, not the original callers Caller ID. I have tried to delete the Tenant External Caller ID from tenant management, but it won't allow me to delete it, only change it.

Please let me know if you have any ideas as this tenant is driving me crazy !

Thanks,

Greg

Chris,

Thanks for the reply.

I am not familiar with how to use scripts. Could you give me an idea of how to impliment this option.

Go into the inbound route for this DID and change the Run Script drop down from huntlist or whichever you are currently using and select the tl-dialout-1-trunk-passthrough script. Strip the number of digits equal to the length of the incoming DID and set String to prepend to the POTS number.

Chris,

Thanks for taking the time to help. It works!

I just wish a list of these scripts and how to use them, IN DETAIL, was published somewhere.

they change quite a bit. The best way is to go into your script library and read the detailed descriptions. They will explain what the script is for and usually how to use it. The smaller (less than 25 line) scripts a most effectively understood by looking directly at the dialplan.
