Asterisk not reloading upon extention creation

Posted by antme on Sun, 06/04/2017

We are building a new environment to migrate into and I'm stuck with this problem of asterisk failing to reload after creating or deleting new extensions.

We are running 8.0.3.10

Any idea what might be the problem? I have tried restarting asterisk and webmin already.

Thanks,

Hello,

Sorry but your post is a little confusing. Asterisk does not perform SIP reload when you are creating new extension or it does but with errors?
Did you try to connect with phone to such extension? If your system was configured to use Asterisk Realtime, some extenions will be shown in CLI after SIP device was registered.

When creating/deleting extentions from the portal asterisk does not reload at all. So the new changes are not shown when you do sip show peers. I must manully type core reload so that the new changes appear.

Okay so I fixed this issue and here is how:

I noticed under "Telephony Servers" there was 2 additional ones with our old system info. I tried deleting them but it said there are tenants who are using that server? Why I have no idea... So I deleted the tenant which I imported from the old system and was able to delete these two servers.

After I deleted them now it properly reloads upon creating extensions. So I unable to import data from my old system I guess.

FYI - if Thirdlane sees multiple servers configured, it will try to run "refresh/reload" commands (after each change, i.e. extensions created, route added, etc) on all these servers, so please be aware of this and make sure that you don't have any extra servers unless you have a cluster. .
