Asterisk and NAT

Posted by ipfreely on Sun, 10/31/2010

Hi Group,
I have touched on this a couple years back, but was looking for some advice on how to proceed. This is not an MTE question, but an asterisk/something question. Currently I have an Ingate siparator 55 infront of my MTE. It acts as a firewall/STUN Server and far end NAT translator. It has been functioning quite well, over the past couple of years, I have found that some of the newer routers have some type of SIP ALG on them that does not let the ingate function as desired. Mainly your cheapo Best Buy specials like dlink and linksys. I am looking to move away from the ingate setup as the costs are starting to add up especially when I need to purchase additional NAT traversal licenses. I was looking at a product called BREKEKE SIP Server. I was thinking of setting that up in place of the ingates. Has anyone had experience with this product or can recommend something else. My purposes are mainly to allow the use on multiple endpoints behiond the same natted firewall. I do not want the RTP traffic coming back to me, unless we are doing recording etc.

Thanks,
Chris A
