Announcement during ringing in queue

Posted by gregshap on Sat, 07/30/2011

In MT,

I need to play a recording to the callers while in a queue but have the ability to pick up the call without waiting for the announcement to finish. So basically, the caller is listening to an ad while waiting for someone to answer the call but the agent can answer the call at anytime during the message playing.

When I set it up as a queue now, the anouncement has to finish before it will ring the agent. Is there a way to make the announcement play as the ringtone that the caller hears while in queue?

Is there a better way?

Thanks,

Greg

Erik,

I tried to select MOH as the source but all I get is silence, although the same file will play as a prerecorded announcement under the queue??? So I know that this file is acceptable to MT.

Do you have a sequence or step by step that I could use to make this work?

Thanks

Greg

sounds like something is misconfigured.. you might need consulting support if you're having a problem getting the MOH classes to play.

If you are calling the queue from inside a hunt list, making the first step of the huntlist the Asterisk command answer() may resolve the issue.

Chris

I am using the hunt list to go to the queue.
Do I need to put anything inside the parenthesis or just like you have it: IE answer()

Thanks for the tip,

Greg

so your inbound route goes straight to the huntlist, and from there your using the queue?

yes, try Answer as your custom command, parenthesis are not required for the Answer application.
