Analog Lines Setup?

Posted by moshe on Thu, 05/13/2010

Hi

I have a customer that want 12 analog lines going into his old phone system (which dosnt support SIP) so all he need is analog trunks what would be my best bet on equipment and settings?

I have tried multiple linkses ata's and ran into many issues, including dtmf (when the need to enter more than 4 digits like telephone banking) also tried with 1 customer mediatrix 4104 and keeps on getting disconnected until a manual reboot, so I'm a little tired of experimenting (or just trusting the sales rep), if you could please share your best practice to setup analog lines 4, 8, 12, and 24 lines, even its short comings so I could weigh the options would be a great help

Thanks

I've been using Adtran TotalAccess devices. They arent cheap. Sometimes the customer equipment still requires some tweaking to get them to work just right.

netx sells them now.

they are the 900 series. 1 T1 for wan and 8 FXS is cheapest (TA908) ... anytime the WAN is ethernet you're looking at the 900 'e' series which adds cost. The 'e' series supports up to 4 t1 connections or ethernet wan.
