Thirdlane 16.1.1 was the big one — the first 16.x version, with the Omnichannel Contact Center, a built-in CRM, AI voice intelligence, WhatsApp Business, Multi-Site Organizations, and a full Reports module. If you haven’t read that walkthrough yet, start there: it covers the platform-defining changes.
Since then, two focused point releases have shipped through the standard Configuration Manager update path. Both are smaller than 16.1.1 by design — 16.1.3 adds two genuinely new Connect capabilities and a more flexible AI model, and 16.1.2 is a maintenance release centered on playback performance and reliability. This post walks through both, newest first.
16.1.3 — Mentions, multi-provider AI, and more
Mentions in Connect
Type @ to mention a teammate, @everyone, or @here from a typeahead picker. Mentions render as highlighted chips and are hard to miss:
- A red mention badge and a distinct mention sound set mentions apart from ordinary unread messages.
- New per-conversation notification levels — All messages, Mentions only, or Nothing — replace the old mute toggle, with a row icon showing the level at a glance.
- Mentions are delivered to every signed-in device and still accrue as badges while Do Not Disturb is on. The messaging servers persist mentions and per-conversation mention counts, so badges stay in sync across all your devices.
Multi-provider AI
AI Services now support OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — for both post-call recording analysis and Connect chat assist. The local Ollama provider has been replaced by these cloud providers, and post-call recording analysis now calls the selected provider end to end. Pick the provider that fits your data-handling and cost requirements and point the platform at it.
More Connect updates
- Siri on iPhone — place calls and send dictated messages by voice; setup is handled automatically.
- Delete Connect call history — remove one call, several selected, or clear all. Entries are hidden only for you; recordings and reporting are unaffected.
- Video moves to Meetings — one-to-one and group Connect calls are voice only; turn on video in a meeting (an optional feature your administrator enables).
Fixes and improvements
- Database schema upgrades are now resumable, so a transient patch error no longer half-applies changes or stalls the update.
- The API key endpoint no longer returns an empty response.
- Analytics reports and their Extension, Department, DID, and Trunk filters now populate on single-tenant systems, report titles and links no longer show a raw placeholder, and section tabs keep their grouped layout when switching between Core only and All sections.
- Analytics report pages refresh reliably after an update without a manual browser cache clear.
- Connect fixes: channels you were just added to appear without reconnecting, channel member management no longer shows a false “Failed” message, mobile returns you to the channel list after edits, the per-conversation notifications screen loads reliably, and web sign-in/logout always use the credentials you enter and fully clear the previous session.
16.1.2 — faster playback and stability
A maintenance release focused on playback performance, call reliability, and fixes.
- Instant playback with seek — recordings and voicemail start playing instantly and you can jump to any point, on the platform and in Connect, plus a fix for playback that could occasionally fail to start.
- More reliable calling — Connect loads faster in the browser, call audio has better speaker/earpiece routing and ringback on outgoing calls, calls no longer occasionally stay “active” after the other side hangs up, and call history loads smoothly with no duplicate or missing entries.
- Fixes — repaired the Special Endpoints API, resolved a rare error when creating a user, and restored Firefox support in Configuration Manager.
Upgrading
Both releases ship through the standard Configuration Manager update path — run the in-product update on a maintenance window and consult the full release notes inside Configuration Manager for any upgrade-specific notes.
