User Portal - Thirdlane Sidebar showing up

Posted by rfrantik on Thu, 05/26/2011

I'm hoping this is a simple question. When we log into the User Portal the normal thirdlane User screen comes up... but there is a "frame" on the left side that has a Thirdlane PBX Manager link, an input box, a house icon, and a logout link with a red button... if you click the Thirdlane PBX Manager link it reloads the page and the "frame" is gone. (I'm guessing it's not really a frame, but that's what it looks like... pushes the whole web page about 2 inches to the right)

Doesn't seem to effect anything and goes away when you click the Thirdlane PBX Manager link... but it can be confusing to end users... and we like to avoid that.

It almost seems like there is a redirect that is incomplete in either Thirdlane or Webmin... but I don't know where to start looking.

Box was originally built from the ISO and I think this started happening when we upgraded Webmin to version 1.520.

Currently running Webmin v1.530... Thirdlane v6.1.1.7 (pretty sure the problem existed in 6.1.1.6 as well) , User Portal 2.1.5.7... Asterisk v1.6.2.14

Any help would be appreciated.

its the 'theme' for webmin. Here is what i do..

i change the default theme to 'old webmin theme', and then for the root user I override his settings and set it back to 'blue framed theme' so that he still has access to all the modules. Other users will be taken straight away to the thirdlane module and not have a second left-hand frame. When root logs in he will have the extra frame so as to administrate other features on the pbx.

Thanks, this helped quite a bit. After I did the first Webmin upgrade I expreimented with using the different themes for my root login... that must be what triggered the problem for the user portal.

I did as you instructed and switched the main webmin theme to "old webmin theme" and I too like the blue theme for root, so I set it that way...

To fix the existing users (who were all set for 'old webmin theme') I then had to go into webmin for each individual user and change their theme, save it, change it back, and save it... once I did that they all are now working without the extra "frame"...

I haven't tested adding a new user, but I'm hoping new users will all adopt the "old webmin theme" and I won't have to fix them individually.

Thanks again.
