Unknown RTP codec 72 received

Posted by tlcipnetworks on Sun, 05/23/2010

We have having issues with the thirdlane PBX and Netcomm NB9WMAXXn, everything works perfectly when we connect to a test Trixbox, but when we connectt o the Thirdlane PBX we get the error Unknown RTP Protocol for both 72 and 73.

Under settings we haev DTMF set to RFC2833 and it defaults to 101, so not sure how it gets recieved as 72 and 73.

Any help woudl be great as we are stuck.

If you have a RTP problem, probably it has to do with a mismatch of the codec (g711u, GSM, etc) and not with DTMF settings. Asterisk may not even be compiled with the correct codec to match the other junk.

No I don't think so. I set both thr thirdlane PBX and ATA to only use G711u, then G711a, only reason I mentioned DTMF was because there was talk of it on teh asterisk site.

In regards to me not compiling it right, you are probebrly right, if I had compiled it but we use the default ISO image from Thridlane, so if it's wrong than the boys need to fix it or advise on a solution.

Any help would be appreciated as we can't seam to resolve it.

Hi Erik,

There are no options to RTCP settings available. I'm just not sure why it doesn;t work with Thirdlane, I've tested it to others, I'm not that technical in the area of Asterisk so I can only really test to other boxes and it seams to work with others. IS there some debug or something i can do to give more information?

Regards,

Trent.
