jack, the IP450 has 3 line keys and some of the buttons like 'directories' 'conference' 'transfer' etc are all built into the on-screen softkeys

whereas the IP650 has :

6 line keys
additional hard keys to quicker access to common features
the ability to add-on sidecar expansion modules (3)
a USB port to support call recording onto a flash stick
larger LCD display

the IP450 is ideal for your average employee
the IP335 is a really basic 9-key handset but wall mounts without additional hardware so great for kitchens, wallmounts etc
the IP550 is a beefier version of the 450 with 4 line keys and quick application buttons making it great for power users and executives
the IP650 is a 6 linekey phone that supports expansion modules making it a good receptionist phone and somewhat overkill as an executive phone.
