asterisk 1.6 fresh install problem

Posted by vipcarrier on Wed, 10/14/2009

Well,
installed on a dev box today CentoOS 5.3 then asterisk 1.6 and TL MTE...
and can't now start asterisk here what I'm getting

/usr/sbin/safe_asterisk: line 146: 21161 Segmentation fault (core dumped) nice -n $PRIORITY ${ASTSBINDIR}/asterisk -f ${CLIARGS} ${ASTARGS} > /dev/${TTY} 2>&1 < /dev/${TTY}
Asterisk ended with exit status 139
Asterisk exited on signal EXITSTATUS-128.
Automatically restarting Asterisk.

Any thoughts???

there is no such thing as 1.6 when referring to a version. there is 1.6.0 and 1.6.1, both are entirely different branches; as different as 1.2 and 1.4.

Do you know of any articles, writeups, etc. that go over the features, functionality, and more importantly, the differences and goals of each release? I'm thinking of moving towards 1.6.X simply because of T.38 faxing. I did not realize that there are now two different branches in 1.6.

Thanks
