setup a trunk: incoming calls drop after 30 seconds

Did you ask your carrier why do they reject the request? Some aspects of it can be adjusted with trunk settings. This might be also an interoperability issue.
Please send your SIP packet capture to firstname.lastname@example.org so we could take a look at it.
