I have a client with about 40 agents of which only 10 are in the office at any time. On the old switch we created the ability to transfer a call to one of the agents not in the office using a three digit "extension" That actually just rerouted the call to an outbound trunk and called that agents cell phone. This should be easy to create a feature extension that calls a number. That way the operator can just transfer to the Feature extension instead of looking up the whole number. We dont' want VM or any other features.

I have several customers who do something like this. I have a work around that may not be as elegant as what you are looking for, but it works. We create an extension with no voicemail, and we then log in as the user and forward the calls to their cell phone.

Again, it's not elegant, but it works.

if you want to just make a 3 digit extension dial out some other extension you can just make a feature extension to do it. You could use the trunk dial script as an example, stripping the 3 digits and appending the new number. You could also write your own script, and just goto the from-inside context letting your existing outbound routes take over.

Except that the trunk dial script and/or the reroute script are not available to the feature extension drop down.

Sorry but some of us are not linux or asterisk commandos like you. I thought this was a forum for people to learn how to use Thirdlane? not be chastised by how little we know.

I have no idea what you mean by clone. If it were that evident I would not have asked.

Did some digging and thought I would come back to apologize it is self evident once I know where it is. I started doing a page by page perusal and BANG there it was like a snake waiting to bite me. Erik sorry If I snapped. I feel overwhelmed sometimes By what I don't know about this system. Thanks for all your great help on this forum. I missed the smiley face the first time.

The easiest way to do this is to simply transfer the call like you normally would, and instead of dialing an office extension, dial the 10 digit cell phone number instead. You do not have to change anything. It just works. Try it.
