Hi All,

With the upgrade to .77, you now have "send fax" and "agent panel". When upgrading existing customers these features are now shown through user portal. Existing customers don't have these feature yets ir even need them. In the tenant management section unchecking the box for showing in userportal didn't work. You have to go in manually to each extension and uncheck the "send fax"box for userportal feature. This undoanble as we couple of thousand extensions over over different tenants.

Also there's no way to unchecl agent panel at all. Which is also very annoying as customers are asking what is does and what its for.

Any solution for this???

And maybe a tip for future release: why not make uncheck new features for userportal, so existing customers can be upgraded manually, instead if having to go in manually and get rid of the new features.

Thanks and happy new year!

Thu, 12/31/2009 - 15:20 | To clarify

What I mean is that by default after upgrading to .77 the feature "send fax" and "agent panel" show up in userportal. And the only way to get rid of them is to go into extension setting page one by one to uncheck "send fax".... There is completely no way to get rid of "agent panel"...

Hope this clarifies and someone has a solution.

Fri, 01/01/2010 - 04:06 | its always been that way.

its always been that way. making it default unchecked generated twice as many complaints that they had to enable it for everyone umteen million times. Its a lose-lose for us as there is no way to please everyone. Agent panel is controlled elsewhere. If you do not add their user as a dynamic member of a queue they will have nothing to manipulate in the agent panel. Only after they were added as a dynamic member will they get the option to join and leave a specific queue. AgentCallbackLogin is only legacy in 1.4 and the way it was implemented in MTE allowed a overlap of tenantID and agent# so agents from one tenant were showing up in lists of other tenants.

This is the new mechanism for joining and leaving as queue members. Future features and visual indications are forthcoming.

Sun, 01/03/2010 - 13:50 | I understand.. :)

Hi,

I understand on new features... But why not checkbox for agent panel. As a lot of our customers not even use "agents". This is giving to many unneeded questions. So why not make agent panel a userportal option just like the others e.g. call forwarding.

Can you give me a work around of disabling send fax for everybody. Or should I just do a global "search and replace".

Patrick

Hi,

In the tenant management section unchecking the box "send fax" for showing in userportal doesn't work for me! Manually go to each extension and uncheck the "send fax" box for userportal feature doesn't work for me! Also there's no way to uncheck "agent panel" anyway!

Can you give us a solution for that?

Fri, 03/05/2010 - 13:19 | No way!

Hi again,

If you create a new tenant and uncheck the boxes in the user portal creation section it doesn't work also. It's equal if it's checked or not, you can see every single option in the user portal.

Hi Alex,

unchecking "send fax" works now but unchecking everthing other in "User Portal creation options" still doesn't work. Still no way to uncheck "agent panel". Can you please check this too!?

Thanks,

Wed, 03/17/2010 - 11:49 | reventix, you should RTFM, or

reventix, you should RTFM, or in this case read the changelog. Agent panel only appears in the user portal IF you are a member of a queue. If you are not a member of a queue it does not appear :-)

Wed, 03/17/2010 - 14:44 | What is RTFM?

sorry but the "agent panel" wasn't my primary question, so only for you again: Unchecking "send fax" works now and "agent panel" works too, but what is with the rest of the "User Portal creation options" for example "CRM Screen Pops" or "Manage Call Forwarding". Unchecking them or not what's the different. I see this in your FM: User Portal creation options These options determine user permissions for access to User Portal and are used in Bulk Generator or as defaults on the User Extensions screen. Why it doesnt' work then, although it stands in your FM? ;-)

Wed, 03/17/2010 - 15:32 | creation options only set

creation options only set what the default for the extensions get checked/unchecked upon creation of an extension.. the extension is the authority of what options are presented to the portal.

In the "User Portal / Web Settings section" (Allow user to perform these actions in the web User Portal) of each extension unchecking the box for showing in userportal is equal too. Both change options in the "Tenant Managment" for new extensions or in the "User Portal / Web Settings section" for existing extensions doesn't work. That's the problem you have an alternative to change these options but why when it doesn't work?

Wed, 03/24/2010 - 11:29 | One and the other question

I know this and that there is the option to change these settings in "Edit User Extension" below "User Portal / Web Settings section", as i wrote in my last post with link to this setting, but then why it actually DOESN'T work? That was my first question!

Then please tell me two things for what stands PEBKAC error most likely and what you can do wrong by checking or unchecking boxes in the interface?

Wed, 03/24/2010 - 13:06 | How are you logged in?

Are you logged in as an admin and clicking the user portal link beside the extension or are you logged in as the extension user? The checkboxes only apply the the extension's user. The admin can always see all the user portal links no matter what checkboxes are off.
