Problem provisioning Polycom 550 version SIP V. 3.3.3.0069

Posted by Denis Campq on Fri, 09/14/2012

I am having a problem getting Polycom version SIP V. 3.3.3.0069 to auto-provision.

The polycom release not for this version said they made some chages to the configuration files.

Does anyone have experiance with what I need to do to get this version working for Auto-Provisioning.

SIP version 3.1.2.0392 works fine.
PBX Manager version
6.0.1.72

Thanks for your help.

never for 3.3 .. that was a stepping stone to the 4.x version. After working with the 4.x version its doubtful we will be supporting it since its changes do not work in a hosted pbx environment. Specifically the features that cause the auto-answer such as tl-intercom and tl-page do not work, as well as the distinctive ringing. Basically they stopped parsing the correctly formatted (as per the RFC) Alert-Info encased in angle brackets <Ring Answer>. This is critical because sip proxies such as siproxd, edgemarc and other tools built on libosip2 will simply drop the packet should they fail to write the packet correctly. The RFC states that the alert-info values must be contained inside a right and left 'angle quotes' .. which are the less-than / greater-than symbols.

bear in mind that the 3.2 branch is still being maintained and there are no features in the 3.3 or 4.0 branch that asterisk can take advantage of.. its mostly for that MS Lync crap that wants to turn asterisk into a glorified gateway and make you register your phones with the Lync server instead.
