Outbound Route - Australia

Posted by onplatinumict on Thu, 03/12/2015

Good Morning,

We have recently taken on a client that has 2 sites in 2 different states so they have different area codes.

QLD - 02+XXXXXXXX
VIC - 03+XXXXXXXX

Typically our clients have been in one state and therefore the requirement to make local calls doesn't require a specific route as this is handled by the company we purchase our trunks from, being Faktortel and my standard Outbound routes as shown below have been working without issue.

_0011. for international
_1NXXNXXXXXX 1300/1800 numbers
_XXX echo/emergency
_XXXXXX 13 numbers
_XXXXXXXX local
_XXXXXXXXXX mobile

What I'm trying to work on is can I specify the area code within the PBX either via the outbound routes or the individual extensions without having to modify the dial plan on each handset.

Thanks and hope you can help.

yes, if your carrier lets you dial the full string with area code, then just use the prepend box of your outbound route for the local pattern and prepend the correct area code.
