One-Time Schedule Changes

Posted by playmaker66 on Wed, 12/24/2014

The current scheduling feature for DID's in TL seems to work well for setting specific time of day settings. As our business grows we see a lot of our hosted PBX customers wanting us to change the time of day that company X will be in the office because of Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Is there anyway we could possibly get a feature added where you could create a schedule and have the specific date be deleted after the day passes? This would cut down on us always having to go back into the "holiday" schedule and delete the specific date out each time a holiday/off day takes place.

Interesting Idea but may not be easy to add to the current implementation. Could you please elaborate on how you see this working and which "part" of the schedule would be "expiring"?

The current setup allows you to setup the to/from time, the day of the week, the day of the year, and month. Assuming that NTP is in place on the box, I would think the system should run a cross-reference with the current date and see if the date that you are adding is before or after today's date. If its after the date, the system would give you an error stating something like "sorry this date has already past" so that you couldn't allow it. That part should be simple.

What I'm mainly getting at is once 2015 ends, all the dates that you setup for a "holiday" schedule would automatically wipe out since that year has now passed and 2016 has begun. You could have it either auto wipe it, or have a check box when you create a schedule that would say something like "delete schedule at end of calendar year? Check yes or no"
