In the User Portal, I've had numerous users shoot themselves in the foot and end up generating a telecom support ticket because they try to forward their extension to their cell phone (or put it into a Find Me/Follow Me target) and only put in the area code and phone number, leaving off the leading 1. It would be very helpful if this page contained text to remind the user that the numbers need to be entered exactly as they dial them on their phone (including any codes needed to dial out if entering an external number).

uhh... why doesnt 10 digit work? that sounds like a failure on your part honestly. You should have loaded a 10 digit pattern that always adds a 1 to it before sending it to their carrier. Not only for FM/FM but for the ability to hit redial from their phones. Its very common for callerid to present in 10 digits. denying them the ability to simply redial from their missed call list is a lack of planning on your part.

Because there are other valid 10-digit dialing patterns in our system that don't make outside calls, and we'd prevent people from dialing numbers in certain area codes if we just excluded those from matching.

We have scripts in place to modify the inbound callerid to add the 1 in front if it's missing to fix the redial problem.
